What Kind of Shopper Are You?

You Are a Loyal Shopper

You are a very picky shopper and tend to be loyal to a few brands.

You are willing to pay extra to buy from a brand you trust.

Of all the types, you're the most likely to own many designer items.

You don't seek out sales as much as most people... unless it's a sale at your favorite store!

My Powerbooks Shopping Cart

I haven't had the chance to go out this weekend. So, i went online shopping instead. I tried to veer away from Ebay.com or Amazon and tried local online shops this time.

Two of my most awaited things will be landing on my doorstep soon.

A Bag Raincoat: The Most Unappealing Bag Accessory Ever Made

I always consider designer bags an investment and for what it's worth, it would be best to keep them in their sleeping bags inside my closet during rainy days. I just happened to realize that I am not the only one with this idea in mind when I came across a forum where discussions circle around caring for purses and handbags that are worth, well, never mind.

A certain girl suggest getting those bag raincoat thingies and the other girl whose a Vuitton fanatic rejected the idea, saying that she'd rather go out without her favorite Louis Vuitton Vernis Reade than have a hideous plastic wrapped around her gorgeous LV. Another lady even shared her opinion that she's happy with her Coach bag that costs a couple of hundred bucks, because she can carry it around without having to worry about the bag getting drenched.

I agree with the LV girl. I hate the idea behind bag raincoats that I am pretty sure no girl in her right state of mind would use such for her quilted Chanel. Imagining the sight of it is enough to make me wanna throw up.

As for the Coach lady, you're lucky you can afford to have your bag get wet. Hypothetically, I have a Tonal C Carly, I still wouldn't submit to the idea that "it's ok for it to get wet, cos it costs less than my LV anyway." Cos really, my bags don't wanna be one with nature--rain or shine!

Hypothetically? Hmm.. Ok, now you're included in my wish list.

The Red Card

If you're going shopping, you better have the red card ready! It's the Esprit Privilege Card that lets you shop 'till you drop without having to drain everything your wallet has. You can enjoy ten percent discount on all regular items, for cash or credit card transactions.

I didn't splurge this time, duh, I just had three shopping bags! And besides, the card's valid for one year so there's really no need to hurry. Hear, hear?

Christmas Wish List

I know I have tons of "me likey" things but the ones listed below are especially for the Christmas season. This time, am gonna limit the list to just 10. So here it goes.

10. Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist. It's one thing that I want to be found inside my everyday bag. It's ideal to use especially under the sun's scorching heat to refreshen and hydrate skin and hair.

9. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. It's the best eyelash curler ever made by man. Enough said.

8. A Toywatch or a Technomarine watch. Just because.

7. An oversize tote bag. I need a really large bag where I can put my everyday stuff--cosmetic pouch, sunglasses, packed lunch, a book and/or a magazine, cell phones, mp4 player, wallet/coin purse, umbrella, wet ones, alcohol, brush, etc.

6. Square-shaped nails. I tried having nails that are long enough so I can have perfect french tips but my nails are weak. Will a nail hardener help? Hmm.. I wonder.

5. A valid ID. Government issued that is. Am so tamad to get at least a postal ID. lol.

4. A new phone. Am not really particular when it comes to cell phones. Any model will do as long as it can be used to text and call, and maybe has a nice cam resolution to go with it.

3. ASUS Laptop (F80L - 4P011D). When I saw this, bam! It was a love at first sight.

2. A cocktail dress and a cocktail ring (and maybe a purse). Two (three) items in number 2, I know. I am not cheating here but wouldn't it be nice if I could wear the dress with a ring and a matching purse to complete the look?

1. A new house. I know it's a big thing for a 22-year old girl like me. But it's for our whole family. My mom and dad want to leave the house we own now and move in someplace less complicated. But it's really hard to find a nice home in a good location, in a peaceful community and in a disciplined neighborhood where values of people don't actually clash altogether. My year would be complete if this one would come to reality.

Me Veers Away from Splurging

My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to Shangri-La Plaza yesterday but knowing my tendencies to splurge, he convinced me to go to Podium instead. He might have thought that the smaller the mall, the fewer the stores, and the fewer the stores, the less chances of me shopping. Oh well. It was a good thing he made the calls coz if it wasn't for that, I would have bought myself this:

Isn't she gorgeous? It's the Toywatch Mother of Pearl Chrono, a classic chronograph with luminescent mother of pearl dials atop its signature acrylic bracelet. It has Quartz Chronograph with a precision stopwatch and three sub-dials: a second hand sub-dial, a 24-hour sub-dial, and a sub-dial that measures up to 60 minutes on the stopwatch. Its face is made of genuine mother of pearl and has tritanium (night-glow) hands. Also, this Toywatch has Swarovski crystals for its dot markers for added elegance.

I've been eyeing this for months now and I really want to get myself one. Soon. Maybe when the boyfriend is busy doing anything else. I abstain for now but I'm gonna have to make sure that I'll add this to my wish list. Christmas is coming. *wink, wink*

P.S.
I'm sure you can get this at Rustan's and I've heard there are online stores that carry this as well.

Grab those Smashbox Cosmetics (According to my Instinct)

When it comes to shopping, I always go with what my instinct tells me. Yesterday, I stumbled upon a multiply site--http://makeupkit.multiply.com/--that sells cosmetics of all sorts and brands--from Shu Uemura brushes and Cleansing Oils to Dior and Chanel Compacts and Palettes. I was amazed the moment I laid eyes on the products on her site! I am talking about me drooling here, ladies. And I know you understand me when I say it’s as good as walking down the isle of your favorite department store while gawking at gorgeous displays. And I know the drooling doesn’t change whether you’re looking at some steal or splurge items. The adrenaline is all the same. Lol.

While my eyes are doing their work of browsing through the site, my mind is, at the same time, doing its job of thinking of that something that I might need (thinking of your needs before they arise is different from learning that you ARE already in need of something. If you know what I mean). So anyway, I thought I need to get a new compact and a blush on and my instinct told me the Smashbox Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation and the Smashbox O-Glow would be perfect.

I followed a gut feel to buy the two without testing them first. The test was done after they were delivered to my doorsteps. Here’s my personal review:

The Smashbox O-Glow, is ok, I guess. For me, it’s just like any other blush except for the Goji Berry C content that’s food for the skin and the clear gel that magically transformed into a pinkish finish as I applied it on my cheeks. But I liked how it blended on my skin and the silky glow it left on my face.

The Smashbox Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation is perfect on my skin as I chose the right shade and coverage. I applied it lightly this morning since I wanted a day make-up effect and when I went out to dinner, I had to go with a medium coverage. It absorbs oil well and has a lasting effect. At the back of the box, it says it has vitamins for the skin—A, C and E, which makes this Smashbox make-up extra impressive. I also love the mirror size, which is big enough to see everything that’s going on in my face. Oh, and another thing that I liked about this is its case and sponge. It comes in a black matte case and a sponge that’s gentle on the skin yet durable. The verdict: The Smashbox Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation gets my 5 out of 5 stars!

So there. I guess it’s not only my instinct that never fails me but Smashbox make-ups as well. *wink*

Prada Saffiano French Wallet: A Classy Piece

Before I bought my Prada Wallet, Prada Saffiano Leather Zip Around French Wallet to be particular, I was thinking of going for Bottega Veneta's, LV's or Gucci's. I was confused as hell. And it was one of the most difficult shopping decisions I've ever made. I was kind of hesitant to settle for the Saffiano Leather French Wallet because it's too plain for me--it's made of plain black leather with a Prada logo in front. But my instinct was telling me to consider it.

And the choice was finally made. I bought the Prada Wallet leaving my "old" wallet semi-broke (yah, I did't swipe my magic card, and used cash instead). Lol. At first, it bored me, and I somehow wasn't able to explain to myself why in the world I spent a hefty amount of money for such thing. It took me days before I fell in love with it I tell you. And that happened after I realized that it is indeed a pretty french wallet. It may not be that flashy but I can never go wrong with this style of Prada wallet because it complements my outfit and dates, from casual to semi-formal ones. It's simple yet very classy. I think the style of Prada Saffiano Leather Zip Around French Wallet really makes sense to me.

Louis Vuitton Speedy - The 'It' Bag

Like any other designer brands, Louis Vuitton Malletier, popularly known as Louis Vuitton or LV for short, has always been admired for its style, sophistication and quality. This French designer brand has several lines of fashion goods from luggage, to city bags and briefcases, to apparel and accessories, both for him and her.

I've always been dreaming to own an LV bag since the day I learned about the brand and its stand in the world of vogue. And now, I have this overly satisfied feeling because I got one already--an Original Speedy 30 Damier Ebony to be exact. Although Louis Vuitton has a wide array of gorgeous handbags, the LV Speedy will always be the most popular of them all and that's the very reason why I chose it.

This, for me, is the it bag! The bag that should be found in every girl's closet. It's like, a collection wouldn't be a collection without the LV Speedy! So grab yours now. It's worth it, I promise.

Pilot - The Journey of a Divine Shopping Experience Starts Here

I got inspired to start this blog because of two things: (1) shopping, and (2) writing. Both are my passion and although I don't think of myself as someone who's good at doing them, well, i still find them fun and fulfilling at the same time.

I probably got my shopping addiction from my mom, who I think has mastered the art of shopping over the years. And me, I am her student. My mom would always take me with her when she goes shopping--food, clothes, bags, shoes, jewelries, accessories, home furniture and decors, etc. I thought it's pretty amazing how I would be able to do the same thing that she does.

Now, I go to boutiques, both mid and high-end ones; surf the internet for fab items to add to my collection; and sometimes, I also shop in my dreams. lol.

Join me as I venture the world of shopping and the divine experience of buying great finds--from the cheap yet pretty things to the most chic and pricey possessions!

...and my journey with you to the world of shopping starts right here.
